Pelosi Creates New House Committee to Oversee Trump's COVID Response, Guess Who's Heading It

America is in the midst of fighting a global pandemic that's killed thousands of Americans, but House Democrats have chosen to only focus on probing President Trump (again).

On Thursday CNBC confirmed that Nancy Pelosi has "announced a new House select committee to oversee the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic."

And guess who she has appointed to head it?

None other than Democrat House Majority Whip Jim Cylburn. If you don't recall, Cylburn was recently caught calling the coronavirus relief bill a "tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision."

Now, thanks to Pelosi, he is going to chair a House Select Committee on the coronavirus.

If you thought Democrats weren't trying to use this pandemic for their political gain, you're wrong.

“We face a deadly virus and a battered economy with millions of Americans suddenly out of work. Congress has taken an important step in leading this crisis by passing three bills with over $2 trillion in emergency relief. We need to ensure those dollars are spent carefully and effectively," Pelosi reportedly stated.

House Speaker Pelosi also revealed she is giving the committee the same kind of widely abused subpoena powers that the House Democrats exploited during Trump's impeachment.

“It would have subpoena power, that’s for sure,” Pelosi declared. “It’s no use having a committee unless you have subpoena power. … Where there’s money, there’s also frequently mischief and we want to just make sure that the funds that are put out there are done so with the conditions that we had in the legislation.”

It's all a bit ironic though considering Pelosi was responsible for getting the Kennedy House $25 million from the stimulus package, and then they went and laid off their employees days later.

Perhaps Pelosi should be investigated? I'd love to know where that $25 million is going if it's not going to their employees.

California Democrat Adam Schiff also announced on Thursday that he is drafting legislation to form a separate 9/11-style commission to investigate Trump's response to the virus.
