Steelers Player Refuses to Kneel: 'Screw Anybody' Who Has a 'Problem with That'

On Monday, Pittsburg Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt spoke out about the ongoing National Anthem protests, stating that he will not be joining the kneelers for the upcoming season.

After he gave financial advice to other athletes in the professional sports world, Tuitt made it extremely clear that he would be standing for the National Anthem this season.

"I’m not kneeling for the flag and screw anybody who have a problem with that," Tuitt started.

"My grandmother was a immigrant from the Carribean and age worked her ass off to bring 20 people over the right way," he said. "She had no money and educated herself to be a nurse. She living good now."

Tuitt's take on the National Anthem protests was very similar to that of legendary NFL coach Mike Ditka who told kneelers to "get the hell out of the country."

“If you can’t respect our national anthem, get the hell out of the country," Ditka said. "That’s the way I feel. Of course, I’m old fashioned. So, I’m only going to say what I feel. I think there’s a way you protest and there’s a way you don’t protest."

He continued, “You don’t protest against the flag, you don’t against this country [that] has given you the opportunity to make a living playing a sport that you never thought would happen."

“So, I don’t wanna hear all the crap,” he added.

Sam Coonrod, a San Fransisco Giants pitcher, also refused to kneel for the National Anthem on Thursday evening against the Dodgers and recently spoke out about his decision.

The Daily Caller reports: "Members of the Giants took a knee during the national anthem, and Coonrod didn’t join them. Every member of both teams also kneeled before the anthem. The pitcher also didn’t participate in that action. The reason why? His Christian faith."

“I’m a Christian, like I said, and I just can’t get on board with a couple of things that I have read about Black Lives Matter. How they lean toward Marxism and they’ve said some negative things about the nuclear family. I just can’t get on board with that,” Coonrod said while speaking to the media.

He continued by saying that he “can’t kneel before anything besides God.”
